As ever, a busy work morning and it was great to be joined by owners watching work on the gallops this morning.  Gradually building up the exercise of many of the string and hopefully only a few weeks away now from some of them making their seasonal debuts.

Very sad news of the passing of Trevor Hemmings.  A complete gentleman on the occasions I met him – he was the epitome of a National Hunt enthusiast and his love of the Grand National was rewarded with three great Aintree victories.  I witnessed on many occasions his generosity in supporting many charities and all who dealt with him loved his grounded approach to life.

People like Trevor are very hard to replace and no doubt racing will come up with a suitable way of recognising the huge contribution he made to jump racing.
