Success at Royal Ascot is always very special. Raffle Prize delivered for owner Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and the team in the first race on the Wednesday of the Royal Meeting. Raffle Prize and Frankie Dettori battled hard to the line to deny Wesley Ward’s Kimari and John Velazquez Group 2 glory in the Queen Mary Stakes, Group 2. The Slade Power filly had won her previous outing by a comfortable five length over six furlongs and the step back to five furlongs was clearly not an issue.
The team also scored a double at Chelmsford courtesy of Rob Ferguson’s Governor Of Punjab who took the seven-furlong novice under Adam Kirby and Bayshore Freeway, owned by the Kingsley Park Owners Club, under Silvestre de Sousa who took the valuable 14-furlong handicap by a length.
