It was great to see Flying Dragon win so well at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening.  Given a fine ride by promising apprentice Jonny Peate, he enjoyed himself out in front and galloped on well up the straight to win in convincing style.

I’ve known Jonny’s parents for many years and he looks to have an excellent career ahead of him attached to Mark Johnston’s yard.  Flying Dragon’s owners The Dreamers are a great group and very much deserve this success.  We look forward to him continuing to give us some fun.  He has run very well for them when ground conditions suit and appears to like the step up in trip with the hood now back on.

Delighted to have backed the Arc winner having gone off Raabihah due to the very heavy going.  With Group One winning form in Germany on similar ground, he looked to be far too big a price.  Having had an each-way bet along with Alastair Down who took up my advice, it certainly was an exciting result.

To breeding aficionados, his sire Alderflug is a sire sensation but sadly recently passed away.  His statistics suggest that he is an outstanding influence on the breed.
