We have declared Picanha (pictured) at Aintree on Sunday in the 2 1/2 mile maiden hurdle run at 3.35pm. Having won a point-to-point in Ireland, he won a very decent bumper at Exeter for us – the form of which has worked out extremely well.
He has been given time to mature by his patient owner Lizzie Prowting and hopefully he can continue to show promise in this competitive event. Picanha has schooled well at home and although he will probably get further in time, it is a good starting point for his hurdling debut.
Tulane will run in the charity race at Wincanton run at 11am on Sunday. My assistant Hannah Gregory who rides him every morning will be onboard. Hannah is an experienced rider, having won the Ladies Final at Stratford in 2018 on her own horse Owen Glendower and hopefully they will both have a good time raising money for raising money for Racing Welfare. If you have not already done so, please do sponsor her HERE
