Another fine warm late summer’s day, we have had an exceptional spell and I notice that the rainfall for the 3 months to 31.08 was 160mm compared with 465mm same period last year, harvest is home. We have been busier than ever here and the horses are in a good routine with their work increasing week by week, only one race fit horse (well I hope he is race fit!) and that is Centenier who runs in the 2.50 at Perth tomorrow, 14 run and Jamie Hamilton takes the ride.
He has improved physically through the summer and that has been reflected in his gradually progressive performances on the track. We have given him a little help with his wind since his last run and he wouldn’t have to improve much to be involved in the finish granted a clear passage in a busy race. Fingers crossed.
We have also had a couple of exciting new arrivals in the last couple of weeks – firstly the impressive High Roller, a 4yo Al Namix brother to the high class Friend or Foe arrived from France and then finally our perseverance at the flat Horses in Training Sales was rewarded when we managed to buy Sanosuke at Newmarket on Wednesday, a beautifully bred son of Galileo with the looks to match he is on an upward curve on the flat winning his latest start in Ireland last month.

As I hope you realise we always do our best to find good second careers for our horses when they finish racing and I love seeing them out in action in their new disciplines, never more so than last Sunday when I watched our ninety nine race hero Rossini’s Dancer in the showing class beautifully prepared and turned out by Amy McGregor – great stuff.
